Avoiding Parasites: Lifestyle Tips

Parasites aren’t the first thing on our minds, but these tiny—even microscopic—harmful organisms can have a significant impact on your health and well-being. Avoiding parasites is critical for maintaining optimal health; and the first step to understanding how is education.

Strengthen Your Immune System

A robust immune system is your first line of defense against parasites. Incorporate these habits into your lifestyle to boost your immunity:

Regular Exercise: Physical activity, such as walking, weightlifting, rebounding and qigong, promotes circulation and helps your body fend off infections.

Adequate Sleep: Aim for 8 hours of quality sleep each night to allow your body to repair and rejuvenate. Try to get to bed before 10 p.m. to allow the regeneration cycle to work its magic.

Stress Management: Chronic stress weakens your immune system. Practice mindfulness, meditation or yoga to keep stress levels in check. Keep a gratitude journal, practice red-light therapy or listen to healing frequencies (solfeggio tones), such as Dr. Group’s “The Healing Music Tones” album, also available on Spotify

Clean Eating and Drinking for a Clean Body

The foundation of a parasite-free lifestyle begins with your diet. Consuming organic, whole foods is essential. Pesticides and chemicals in nonorganic produce poison your body and weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to parasitic infections. Aim to fill your plate with:

Fresh, Organic Vegetables: Leafy greens, carrots and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower are excellent choices.

Organic Fruits: Berries, watermelon, apples and citrus fruits are not only delicious but also rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Juices: Combine raw, organic fruits and vegetables into a juicer to get the most out of your produce.

High-Quality Proteins: Organic, raw nuts, seeds and sprouts are great ways to get protein. If consuming meat and dairy, opt for organic, grass-fed meats and wild-caught fish, raw cow or goat milk, and free-range eggs.

Clean Water: Drinking quality water can make all the difference. Never consume tap water, which is highly contaminated and may contain parasites. Strongly consider a countertop distiller, storing your water in—and drinking from—glass to avoid microplastics. Take your water to the next level with a water-structuring device.

Sugar Avoidance: Parasites feed on glucose, so it’s best to avoid all sugar aside fructose (natural sugar from fruits and raw honey), excess carbohydrates, which break down into glucose, and alcohol.

The Power of Proper Hygiene

Good hygiene is a cornerstone of parasite prevention. Parasites and bacteria can be spread via unclean surfaces, pets, fecal contact, large events and sharing bodily fluids. Simple habits can make a mighty difference:

Handwashing: Wash your hands thoroughly before eating and after using the restroom. Warm water and natural tea tree soap can remove most microscopic organisms. Eliminating harmful bacteria can prevent the transmission of many parasites.

Food Preparation: Ensure all fruits and vegetables are washed completely. Use a natural produce wash to remove any potential contaminants. Remove waxy coatings, as these are cosmetic preservatives. Also remove nicked, discolored, mushy or recessed areas.

Cooking Practices: If consuming meat, make sure it’s cooked to appropriate temperatures to kill any potential parasites. Check for worms just under the skin before cooking. Avoid consuming raw or undercooked meats, especially sushi.

Clean Air: From dust to dander, poor air can have a detrimental effect on your health. Consider a quality air purification system, placing plants in your home and work environments, and aromatherapy using essential oils.

Fresh Bedding: 30 percent of your life is spent in bed, so make sure to change your bedding regularly, especially your pillowcase. Aim for organic, natural bedding materials and fabrics. In a pillow used over six years, dust mites can account for 10 percent of its weight.

Safe Travel Practices

Traveling can expose you to new environments and potential parasites. Make simple, conscious decisions to safeguard yourself from harmful organisms.

Water Safety: Avoid drinking tap water. Stick to bottled or purified water. If you can find it, always pick distilled water. To purify water on the go, place a drop or two of nascent iodine, such as Global Healing’s organic Detoxadine, per gallon of water.

Food Choices: Be cautious with street food and undercooked dishes. Opt for freshly prepared meals. Avoid nonorganic food, if possible.

Protective Clothing: In areas prone to insect-borne parasites, wear protective clothing and use natural insect repellents. Essential oils such as citronella, lavender and peppermint, to name a few, work well.

Environment: Know where you’re swimming and never swallow the water while you swim—no matter what body of water it is. Also, keep your feet covered to protect yourself from organisms that can penetrate human skin.

Regular Detoxification

Detoxifying your body can help eliminate any parasites that may have slipped through your defenses. Consider:

Juice Cleanses: Organic vegetable and fruit juices can help flush out toxins and support your liver.

Detox Programs: Regularly cleansing your body’s detox pathways, especially the liver, helps keep harmful organisms and toxins at bay. Try Global Healing’s Harmful Organism Cleanse Program for parasites and other unwanted overgrowth.

Fasting: Intermittent fasting or water fasting can give your digestive system a break and help expel parasites. The benefits go beyond simply parasites.

Conclusion

While prevention is always recommended, living in a bubble is unrealistic. Virtually everyone will come into contact with these harmful invaders over the course of their lives. Since these infections often have no outward symptoms, it’s not always obvious something is living inside you and feeding off your tissues.

Living a parasite-free lifestyle is all about being proactive and mindful of your daily decisions. By maintaining a clean diet, practicing good hygiene, strengthening your immune system and utilizing natural remedies, you can significantly reduce your risk of parasitic infections.

Remember, your health is your greatest asset and ultimate investment—protect it with these simple yet powerful strategies.
